WonderWriter: Limitations

WonderWriter is specifically designed to be safe, easy and productive for non-technical users. WonderWriter is intended to produce the vast majority of ad hoc reports needed by a client, and with experience and experimentation, WonderWriter will satisfy most reporting requirements. However, WonderWriter is NOT intended to replace all programmed reports in a system.

WonderWriter does not support graphics or charting.

WonderWriter reports are limited to single line reports with line widths between 80 and 260 characters. The spacing between data fields must be identical for all fields on a WonderWriter report.

WonderWriter reports, subject to report width restrictions, can include any data elements from a WonderWare-produced system database, but cannot calculate or create new data fields.

WonderWriter reports can only include data from multiple files if appropriate "key-to-filename" keys exist in the Data Dictionary and have been selected as a report field (may be specified as "not displayed").
