The databases of WonderWare-produced systems are simply and easily defined using WonderWriter's File Dictionary and Data Dictionary.

 The File Dictionary defines the name and description of each database file of a WonderWare-produced system.

 The Data Dictionary defines each data field on each of the files in the File Dictionary. The Data Dictionary displays up to 13 data fields at a time, and permits easy and powerful browsing and scanning.

For each data field, the Data Dictionary defines the field's position, size, name, data type, and number of decimal places. For convenience, accuracy, and efficiency, WonderWriter's Data Dictionary subsystem will automatically calculate the record position of each field as the fields are sequentially entered. For each file, its "primary key" and its "key-to-filename" key(s) are defined. "Key-to-filename" keys are used to include data from multiple files onto a single report.

The File Dictionary and Data Dictionary are provided by DDS, at no charge, with a WonderWriter license.
