Setup History

Each time a change is made to a mission-critical "Setup" record in OpenSystems, a History record is logged.    The user can access history records using the History button on the Setup tabs.  When a subsystem has history, it is accessible from a button in the “More…” frame.

When the History button is clicked, a Paged List Box appears showing all of the history records for the file.  In the example below, the History button on the OpenMETRIC Item tab has been clicked, and the list shows ITEMMSTR2 (Item History) records.

The most recent record will be at the bottom of the list with older records above it.  This presents the history in “chronological order” from top to bottom, while still showing the most recent history record.

The date and time of the history record is displayed on the leftmost column.  You may scroll back through time by clicking the scroll bar at the right of the paged list box.

To view a history record, click the line containing the record and click the History Record button.  The history record is displayed and a “Viewing History” banner is shown at the upper left-hand corner of the screen.

You will notice that the history window looks like the current window except there is a green banner at the top.

To view extended history data, click on the relevent buttons in the More frame.  To return to the history list, click the View List button.  If you are finished viewing history, click the Cancel button to return to the current tab.
